Our team meet our ski group at Manali and after drive of 14 km distance we will reach at our hotel at Solang Valley, Introduction with ski equipment and walking with ski shoes and balancing on a ski.On the first day of the course, we will be meeting in Manali. From there we will take you to the location and after a good meal, we will be providing you with all the ski equipment also our guide and trainer will give you a brief introduction related to handling the equipment and how to use them. Our trainers will also teach you many different technical terms which they will be using during the course.
On day 2, after you have received a brief introduction about skiing as snowboarding and now that you are familiar with some technical terms, your second day will be practical work. We will focus more on developing your skills with the board and the other equipment. Our trainers will teach you how to balance on the ski and some other techniques which will help you understand the tricks easily.
Snow Plough turns means the turns which are made using ski sticks. Snow plough turns are the techniques which is the first thing that is taught in the ski course. Our guides will teach you how to keep your legs in a V shape and put some pressure on the snow. You don't have to worry about anything because the trainers will always be there to help and guide you in every possible way.
The main motive of the snow plow turns is to make you understand the movements and this is the basis of the course.
On day 4, by this time you are already a little familiar with snow plows and now our guide will teach you a new technique which is known as Stem turn. In this technique, the guide will make you understand how these are kept in parallel as you love across the slope.
Stem turn is considered the most important trick for the ones who are learning skiing for the first time. If you have learned this trick, you will be able to move forward even if you are uncertain about your next move. However, one has to keep in mind that this technique is not to be used on all terrain but it is only to be used when it is really necessary.
Our guide will teach you how to step your uphill leg out and use your heels only. The next steps will also be thoroughly taught to you. Earlier with the use of traditional ski equipment, it was very difficult to fo this technique but now with the latest ski equipment, and metal edges it has become much easier.
Basic swing in the case of skiing generally means a high-speed turn that is made with the ski parallels. It may look difficult to learn but with the help of our trainers and guides, you will be able to understand it in dept. The parallel turn technique came up in the year 1930s by an Australian ski expert. At present, Parallel turn is used by almost all the guides while teaching the novice. It is a great technique as it creates less friction and also helps in maintaining speed.
This will be the last day of the course and we will end our course on the 7th Day. By day end of the 7th day, you will become skilled in the ski course and finally, we will give you a certificate of completion. Finally, you and our team will depart from the camps towards Manali from where you will move forward to your destination.
