Kedarkantha during Spring (March - April): In March, you will find smooth snowfall. The mountains are covered with winter snow. You will be able to explore the lower altitudes with a splash of color. Kedarkantha Trek in Summer (May - June): During summer, the days can be fairly warm and you can experience colder evenings and nights. Kedarkantha Trek in Autumn (September - November): We would say it is one of the most pleasant times to visit the Kedarkantha Trek. Since September is a month for moderate sprinkles and rain, you can visit here with your group. But again, before initiating your journey, you can check on climatic conditions, which can be cloudy and pleasant. You can experience a bit of a chilled environment during October and November as winter is approaching!
Kedarkantha Trek in Winters (November-February): November marks the beginning of winter climate and this is perhaps the best time to visit Kedarkanth Trek till April. This is because the Himalayas Range of mountains are covered with snow which ultimately makes it a wonderful destination for skiing activities.

Our journey to trek starts from reaching Dehradun by Tempo Traveller from 6:30 AM onwards. Everyone should report at the pickup venue on time. From Dehradun, you will drive to Sankri which is approximately 220 kms away. This will take almost 8 to 10 hours to reach due to mountainous region roads. Sankri is a beautiful destination situated on National Highway 123. It is definitely a wonderful driving experience amidst snow mountains, forests and valleys.
Before reaching Sankri, the trekkers an travellers will witness a serene view of Himalayas and greenery all across the region. Also, you will come across Govind National Park which is renowned for its enormous collection of Flora. In this region, you will find unique and rejuvenating Flora which can only be seen here.
On second day, trekkers will climb to 9,100 ft from 6,400 ft
Trekking for 4 kms will take 2 to 3 hours
The trek pass will go through oak forests, maple trees, water streams, water falls and spellbounding meadows
Night to be spent in tents (Twin or Three Sharing)
On Day 2, trekkers will start trekking towards Juda Ka Talab which is situated at a higher altitude of 9,100 feet. Till afternoon, you will be able to cover 5 km which can take upto 3 to 5 hours. Also, this depends on the capacity of a trekker. Trekkers, just get ready to experience the varied adventures you get on the trail. While trekking, you may get snow and slush on the way. But Broza Adventures group will help you so you need to relax. The trek will initiate with an elegant pine and maple forest along with wildlife and pastures. Also, you may see beautiful dainty huts besides the fields as we trek upward side. Furthermore, trekkers will be able see thick oak and pine backwoods along with Goliath Lake. Interesting thing is you will get Luke warm water all across the lake and it will be colder in the rest parts. One of the most exciting things about this trek is you will be able to witness Himalayan Languor along with boars, hares, martens and many more. At night, you will be served with health dinner along with hot water and stay will be arranged in a camp.
On Day 3, we will trekking upwards to Kedarkantha Base - Lohasu to 11,250 ft from a height of 9,100 ft
Trekking for 4 km will take approximately 2 to 3 hours
Most of the trail/trek is on a ride and you will pass through elegant oak trees, pastures where you can spot shepherd log huts, Night stay at tent
Wake up early on third day to experience sunrise and we will begin Kedarkantha Base trek which is located at 11,250 ft height. From Jadu Ka Talab, Kedarkantha Base Trek is almost 4 kms and it takes 2 to 3 hours to climb this trek at medium speed. Jadu Ka Talab is a wonderful lake surrounded by pine trees which gets frozen during winters. This turns out to be an adventure spot which has fun activities for the trekkers.
Gradually, the trek will get steeper as we move upward side. You will learn different snow slope skills and hence its time to be attentive. Also, you will learn from the trek head about how big footsteps you should take. Once more, the dense forest of oak trees and pine trees will be the starting point of your adventure. The steep ridges are also traversed by the trail. You will see snow traces as you progressively ascend the path to 10,400 feet, which will undoubtedly provide you with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Prepare yourself for some breathtaking views that will still astound hikers. Before arriving at base camp, hikers will be treated to breathtaking views of several snow-covered arc-shaped ranges, including Ranglana, Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Kala Nag, which stand proudly in the arms of Mother Nature.Dinner will be served in the tents at night.
Get up early in the morning for summit peak, Trek of 6kms will take 6 to 7 hours, You will experience beautiful sunrise when you reach at the summit peak on time,You will be served with yummy lunch at the base camp, Post lunch, start descending towards Hargaon
You will be served snacks at next campsite Hargaon or Juda ka talab You will be travelling to the peak of Kedar Kantha on Day 4, so it will be a long day. You will walk for approximately 6 km today, covering a distance of 11,250 feet to 12,500 feet, in 7 hours. You must be aware that the trek will be steeper than usual, so make appropriate preparations.
While trekking, you will witness and explore the breathtaking views of many mountains, including Rupin, as well as the enchanted hues of the natural world. The locals claim that the reason it is called Kedar Kantha is because, when they first attempted to build the Kedarnath temple atop that peak, they heard an animal's sound, which is an omen of a supernatural event.
Up until that point, Lord Shiva's statue had been built, and in Hindi, the neck is referred to as Kanth. Lord Shiva is known by many names, one of which is Kedar. It is called Kedarkantha for this reason.
You can indulge your eyes with beautiful vistas of Kalanaag, Bandarpooch, Swargarohini, Gangotri, and Yamunotri from Kedarkantha Peak. Once you've reached the summit, the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape will astound and perfectly balance your feelings.
Along with a modest shrine honouring Lord Ganesh, there is a small temple devoted Lord Shiva and Parvati goddess on the summit. In addition, that same day we will begin our descent to Hargaon Camp.
You will be able to spend a night at the campgrounds, which offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside and valleys.
Return back from Hargaon camp - 8,900 ft to Sankri - 6,400 ft
Trek of 6 kms takes almost 4 to 5 hours
Decend 2,500 ft via dense pine woodlands
Day 5 is dedicated to continuing descending from Hargaon Camp to Sankri. We are going to descend to 6400 feet from 8900 feet. Descending the 6-kilometer trail will take approximately 4 to 5 hours, or longer if you walk at a moderate pace.
Today is the day that you have to bid farewell to the majestic vistas of the Himalayas and snow-capped mountain ranges, as we are returning to Sankri. It is crucial that you understand how easy the trek will be because there won't be much distance to cover.
A number of treks, including those to Borasu Pass and Bali Pass, pause at Sankri. You will be greeted in the early morning at Hragaon Camp by a breathtaking sunrise between the pine trees.
It will take 8 to 10 hours to reach Dehradun
You will be dropped by Tata Sumo or Tempo Traveller at Dehradun Railway Station
On the Day 6, you will travel 220 km from Sankri to Dehradun, which will take approximately 8 to 10 hours. Early departure from Sankri will allow you to arrive in Dehradun by evening.
You will arrive in Dehradun between 7 and 8 p.m., so make the appropriate bookings for your hometown.
