This trek is an ideal expedition for experienced trekkers because of the various kinds of sloped. You will get a chance to explore the beautiful village of Jagatsukh on this expedition. 

Jagatsukh Peak is located at a massive height of around 5350 m. It is filled with huge glaciers and nice meadows. The whole route to this peak is simply awesome and creates a dramatic effect on your mind. As you walk further on the route, the road unveils the amazing scenery of moraine and terrains. 

This trekking trail shows the magical peaks such as Mt. Norbulinga and Deo Tibba while walking through different routes. This trekking point experiences different types of temperatures throughout the day because of its location. You will need good winter wear to complete this trekking trail. 

Jagatsukh peak is full of beautiful waterfalls, lakes, and small streams. This trail is particularly meant for experienced climbers as it needs many tough techniques at various stages. The amazing view of the Himalayan Mountain ranges from the top of Jagatsukh peak will relax your mind and calm your soul.

Best time to do the Jagatsukh Peak Expedition 

Jagatsukh Peak is located at a height of around 5050m from the sea level. It is covered by snow for several months of the year. So, the best time to do this trek is during summer and starting time of winter. The best season is from May to June to do this trekking trail. Another season for this trek is from September to October after the monsoon season. 

Do not visit on this trek from October to February as the region is filled with heavy snow. Due to ice and snow, the paths become slippery and involve dangerous turns. It is not advisable to do this trek during monsoon. The region also receives heavy rains from mid-June to August. You may face the risk of landslides during the monsoon season.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Manali

Our trekking trail will begin from Manali and so you have to first arrive at Manali. It is one of the most enchanting hill stations to spend a day or two. We have reserved one full day for Manali so that you can get used to the local weather and know a few things about our trek. 

We provide a room facility in Manali for our trekkers. Accommodate yourself in Manali and enjoy the local attractions with your group members. Our team leaders will explain all the basics of the trek with useful tips to enjoy your trek at its best. Take your dinner and good sleep to prepare your body for the next day’s trail.  

Day 02: Drive from Manali to Jagatsukh and trek to Chikka (1950m) | 2 Hours’ Drive / 3 Hours trek 

On day 2, we will start our trail after breakfast. We have to drive from Manali to Jagatsukh. The road to Jagatsukh village is simply breathtaking with meadows at every phase. You will witness the different colors of nature at every phase. Thick pine forests and a deep valley will walk with you throughout the route. It takes about 2 hours to reach Jagatsukh village. 

After reaching the village, we will take a rest and start trekking to Chikka. Vast areas of meadows will make your mind feel amazing. The trek path is quite interesting with lots of twists and turns. We will reach Chikka within 3 hours. After reaching Chikka, we will accommodate ourselves in our tents and enjoy hot lunch. Take rest and get accustomed to the local weather. Our night stay will be at Chikka campsite. 

Day 03: Trek from Chikka (3175m) to Seri (3700m) | 5 Hours Trek

Post breakfast, our trail will begin from the Chikka campsite. It is going to be a long trail of 5 hours to Seri Base Camp. On our route, we will come across Jagatsukh Nala. The trek has ascents with the backdrop of thick forests. Birch trees will wave at us while we walk on the trekking path. The road is full of bushes, grasslands, and colorful wildflowers. 

A wide section of boulders follows us on our trekking trail. The trail will get tougher at every step. As you move further, the beautiful views of nature will keep you encouraged. There is freshwater spring at Dudu Patthar and Panduropa with huge waterfalls flowing below your feet. Tainta cliff is one exciting destination that will be viewable on your left side. We will also come across the gushing river on our route to the campsite. 

Our campsite for the day is Seri base camp. This campsite is located on the flatlands with a backdrop of huge waterfalls. The location is so good that you will love to lose yourself in its boundless beauty. We will take lunch and rest for some time. In the evening, we will take an acclimatization walk to experience the local climate and weather. After dinner, take a long and good sleep and relax your body.  

Day 04: Seri – Load ferry to Summit Camp – Seri | 6 Hours trek

Like every day, we will start our trek post breakfast. We have to reach Summit camp which takes up to 6 hours. Today, we have to spend a day of acclimatization to make our bodies strong for further trips. We will reach Summit Camp and come back to the Seri base camp by evening. 

The road to Summit Camp is loaded with snow. You will be lost in the fairy world of snow as you walk ahead on this road. It is a mind-capturing place that deserves a click on your camera as well. Our night stay is again at Seri Campsite. 

Day 05: Trek from Seri to Summit camp (5050m) | 3 Hours trek

Post breakfast, we will begin our trail from the Seri campsite. The route is the same that we took yesterday to Summit Camp. Do not forget to carry your trekking equipment like mattresses and sleeping bags. Remember today is a very difficult day for all of us as we have to build our tents and walk on some difficult roads. 

It is a 3-hour trek from Seri to Summit Camp and we will reach by lunchtime. After lunch, we will settle down in our tents and rest for a while. In the evening, we will take a stroll in the nearby areas to get comfortable with the local weather. We will have our dinner and spend the night in tents at Summit Camp.

Day 06: Trek from Summit Camp to Jagatsukh Peak and back to Summit Camp | 10 Hours trek

We will wake up with new energy in our body as today we have to reach Jagatsukh Peak. After breakfast, we will start our trek from Summit Camp. The road will be full of snow and we have to walk carefully to reach the peak. The day will be tiring as we have to walk for around 9 hours. 

We will traverse through moraine fields and come to the huge glaciers. The road also offers magnificent views of different peaks of the Himalayas. The constantly changing colors of nature will make your mind fresh and calm. After walking for about 3 to 4 hours, we will finally reach our destination Jagatsukh Peak. The most wonderful thing about this peak is the view from its top. 

From the top of Jagatsukh Peak, you will see the whole region blanketed by fog and snow. These views must come on your camera so that you can see them for many coming years. Spend some of the best times with your friends at the top of the peak and we will start our journey once again. 

By night, we will return to our base camp. With a smile and happiness on our faces, we will enjoy sleep at night. 

Day 07: Trek from Summit Camp to Seri (3700m) | 3 Hours trek

From Summit Camp, we will start our trek after breakfast. We will head towards the same route that we took on day 5. We will descend on the same route. Now, the journey will be much easier than before and you will see the lovely nature points for the last time on your trip. Take some amazing pictures with your camera of Seri road. 

During lunchtime, we will reach the Seri base camp. After lunch, take a rest and walk to the local area with your group. It is our last day of the trek and we will enjoy it with tasty meals, a campfire, and sweet talks. We will have our overnight stay in tents at the Seri base camp. 

Day 08: Trek from Seri to Khanula and Drive to Manali | 2 Hours trek / 2 Hours Drive

Post breakfast, we will begin our trail from Seri base camp and walk to reach Khanula. This small village has picturesque beauty with huge acres of green fields. We will take a small break at Khanula and start driving to reach Manali. 

The way to Manali from Khanula is very beautiful and you will enjoy the journey in cars. By noon, we will reach Manali. From Manali, we will depart and move to our own destinations. You can also spend a few days in Manali to enjoy its beauty.

Things to carry on the Jagatsukh Peak Expedition  

The Jagatsukh Peak expedition is an easy to moderate trek including some difficult routes. You will need many items while going on this trek such as:

  • 1 woolen cap and 1 sun cap for covering your head 
  • 1 windproof jacket, 1 waterproof jacket, and 1 down jacket 
  • 1 head torch with extra pairs of batteries 
  • 1 trek pole for the smooth trek
  • Undergarments 
  • 1 neck warmer and 1 Balaclava 
  • 3 trek pants 
  • Personal medicines as prescribed by your family doctor 
  • Rain cover and a day pack 
  • Personal toilet kit including toothbrush, face wash, toothpaste, moisturizer cream, hand towel, wet tissue, toilet paper, and sunscreen SPF 50+
  • 2 pairs of comfortable trekking shoes 
  • 1 pair of upper and lower thermal wear for winter

Do’s and don’ts for a good trek 

To enjoy a trekking trail in the best way, you must follow some things such as:

  • Be physically fit to go for this trek 
  • Book your ticket to Manali some days to reduce last-minute hassles 
  • Follow the timings on the trek as given by the group leaders
  • Do not take alcohol or smoke while going for a trek 
  • Throw garbage only in the dustbins and not on roads, base camp, or other places 
  • Wear comfortable trekking shoes only 
  • Do not carry any trolley bag 
  • Do not wear gold or diamond jewelry on the trek 
  • Respect the traditions of the locals 
  • Co-operate with team members and help your group members in a tough situation
  • Do not consume drugs or tobacco on the trek
